Image to WebP (“the Extension” and related web tool) converts images to the WebP format inside your browser. This policy explains what data is and is not handled when you use the product.

Summary

• Image conversion runs locally on your device.
• We do not upload your images to our servers for conversion.
• We do not sell personal data.
• The Chrome extension itself does not include advertising or analytics trackers.

Data we process locally

When you convert an image, the product temporarily reads the image bytes you selected (from a webpage, a downloaded URL, or a local file/folder you chose) in order to encode a WebP file and save it through browser download or file APIs. That processing happens on your device and is not transmitted to us for conversion.

Settings stored on your device

Preference values such as WebP quality, maximum width, selected formats, language, and remembered directory handles may be stored with chrome.storage (in the extension) or local browser storage (on the web tool) so your settings persist between sessions. These settings remain on your device and are not sent to our servers.

Permissions used by the Chrome extension

• Context menus — add a right-click action to convert images.
• Downloads — save converted WebP files.
• Notifications — show conversion success or error messages.
• Storage — remember your conversion preferences.
• Offscreen / windows — run local encoding and open a save fallback window when needed.
• Host access — read the specific image you ask to convert on a webpage. The Extension does not browse or collect your general browsing history.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect personally identifiable information, authentication credentials, payment information, location data, or browsing history for advertising. Converted images are not uploaded to us.

Website analytics

The public webpage may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic. This analytics script is separate from the Chrome extension. Image files you convert are still processed locally in your browser.

Third parties

The product does not send image content to third-party conversion services. Links to the Chrome Web Store or other external pages are governed by those sites’ own policies.

Children

The product is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information.

Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
